Subject: Pharmacy Technician Requirements
 
In the very near future, I will be re-introducing legislation (SB736) that strengthens requirements for pharmacy technicians. This legislation defines individuals who assist pharmacists as “pharmacy technicians” and requires pharmacy technicians to register annually with the State Board of Pharmacy and be required to submit a criminal history background check. This legislation also provides that pharmacy technicians must complete a board-approved training program for pharmacy technicians and also be at least 17 years of age.
