Subject: Taxpayer return on investment
 
In the near future, I plan on reintroducing legislation (previous session SB 695) that would provide taxpayers a return on successful investment in private business. My legislation would help taxpayers see a return on their investment when Pennsylvania taxpayers are the initial investment partners for a business. Successful business, which received state grants, would be required to repay the subsidy in future years based on a formula tied to measurable increases in gross profits.

Pennsylvania’s economic recovery remains fragile and this proposal would encourage job creation for small businesses. This legislation is part of the PA WORKS package that is designed to create jobs within the Commonwealth.
