Subject: National Newspaper Week in PA - October 7 - 13, 2018
 
A resolution recognizing the week of October 7 - 13, 2018 as "National Newspaper Week" in Pennsylvania.

The House of Representatives acknowledges the vital role played by the newspaper industry as a
pillar of our democracy and congratulate the Pennsylvania NewsMedia Association, its membership
and affiliates upon the celebration of "National Newspaper Week".

Since 1940, the United States Newspaper Association managers have sponsored and supported
a week-long celebration emphasizing the importance of newspapers in fostering improved
community service, participation and responsiveness in the everyday lives of citizens.
