Subject: | Sergeant Melvin R. Wink Memorial Bridge |
In the near future, I will introduce legislation to honor Sergeant Melvin R. Wink. The bill will designate a portion of State Route 1010 in Lancaster County, as the Sergeant Melvin R. Wink Memorial Bridge. Sergeant Melvin R. Wink was a native of Bareville, grew up in Brownstown and graduated from Conestoga Valley High School. Sergeant Melvin R. Wink served with the U.S. Army Troop A, 3rd Squadron, 4th Cavalry Regiment, 25th Infantry Division. He was killed in action in Cambodia on June 1, 1970. Sergeant Wink was the only Conestoga Valley graduate to have died during the Vietnam War. Please join me in sponsoring this important piece of legislation. |
