Subject: | Extended Use Liquor Permits (Re-Introduction) |
In the near future, I plan to re-introduce a package containing two bills - former House Bills 2225 and 2226 - that will give municipalities the authority to give hotel, restaurant and club liquor licensees the option to apply for extended use permits so that they may sell liquor and malt or brewed beverages up until 4 a.m. on any given day. Extended use permits are vital to economic development and will help to attract more consumers, including our younger and talented millennial generation. My legislation does not divest the Liquor Control Board (LCB) of any of its duties, but rather brings local municipalities to the decision-making table where they will have a voice concerning the businesses located within their jurisdictions. I ask that you please join me in co-sponsoring these two pieces of legislation. |
