MEMORANDUM

Posted: December 19, 2017 01:57 PM
From: Representative Bryan Barbin
To: All House members
Subject: Fentanyl Limited Use Legislation

Currently the heroin epidemic has reached historic levels. At the same time fentanyl is being added to heroin increasing its potency and leading to additional overdose deaths.

In the past, because of its potency, fentanyl was only used in operating rooms. By limiting the use of fentanyl until the epidemic subsides, we will be providing needed relief to coroners, EMS providers, and law enforcement. There is included in this legislation a two year sunset date.
