Subject: | Non-profits Competing with For-profits |
In the near future, I plan to introduce legislation that will impose the state corporate net income tax on a competing not-for-profit entity engaging in a competing segment of business. Specifically, for tax purposes, all entities that are currently tax exempt due to tax filing status (i.e. non-profit, not-for-profit) in the state of Pennsylvania shall be considered for-profit entities for the segment or segments of business in which they compete in a "space" against for-profit entities. This designation change would apply only to the segment of business in which they compete against for profit businesses. Please join me by cosponsoring this important piece of legislation. |
