Subject: Italian-American Heritage Month – October 2017
 
In the near future I plan on introducing a resolution recognizing October, 2017, as “Italian-American Heritage Month” in the Commonwealth.

Many individuals of Italian heritage headed to Pennsylvania looking for jobs from 1890 to 1960, their population by state was the second highest in the country, behind only New York. Today there are more than 17 million Americans of Italian heritage in the United States, and more than 1.4 million Americans of Italian heritage residing right here in Pennsylvania. These Italian-Americans have contributed greatly to the Commonwealth with deep roots in religion, politics, the arts, science, law and economic and social institutions.

Please join me in sponsoring this resolution to designate Italian-American Heritage Month.
