House Co-Sponsorship Memoranda

In the very near future, I plan to introduce a House Resolution recognizing August 2017 as “#ABLEtoSave Month” in Pennsylvania.

The establishment of #ABLEtoSave Month for the month of August 2017 across Pennsylvania will encourage all public, consumer, community-based and private sector organizations to provide information and resources to residents of Pennsylvania about ABLE (Achieving a Better Life Experience) accounts.

Over 20 states have established ABLE programs through which millions of individuals with disabilities can save money in a tax-exempt “ABLE” account that does not count towards the $2,000 asset cap.

Many individuals with disabilities and their families are unaware of the life-changing potential of ABLE accounts or are misinformed about the guidelines.

Please join me in support of this resolution proclaiming the August 2017 as #ABLEtoSave Month to enhance awareness of and education about ABLE accounts.
