Subject: Workforce Investment Funding for Successful Programs
 
Pennsylvania’s workforce development system is a critical pipeline to ensure that citizens receive the training and skills necessary to be able to obtain employment.

It is essential that all of the limited federal and state funding available in Pennsylvania for workforce investment be distributed to programs that are effectively working to help citizens secure jobs. My legislation would amend the Workforce Development Act to require that no funding be distributed to programs in local areas where said programs have not demonstrated measurable success through performance measures established by the state Workforce Development Board and local workforce boards.

Please join me in cosponsoring this legislation to hold workforce programs accountable and ensure that workforce investment funding is distributed sensibly.
