Subject: | Non-Tax Recurring Gaming Revenue Proposal |
Please join me as a co-sponsor of legislation that would bolster the state’s General Fund with approximately $270 million per year in recurring non-tax revenue, while maintaining the existing framework for gaming in the Commonwealth. My legislation would enact annual fees of $10 million on each Category 1 and Category 2 slot machine licensee and an annual fee of $1 million on each Category 3 slot machine licensee. In addition, my legislation would enact an additional fee of $1 million on each Category 1 and Category 2 table games licensee and an annual fee of $500,000 on each Category 3 table games licensee. These fees would be in addition to the license fees paid by the licensees under current law. The funds would be deposited into the General Fund beginning for the 2017-2018 fiscal year. Further, my legislation redirects the Local Share Assessment paid by each licensee to the General Fund. This redirection would begin with the 2017-2018 fiscal year. Please feel free to contact my office at 787-7686 if you have any questions. |
