Subject: | Resolution Recognizing the One Year Anniversary of the Shooting at Pulse Nightclub in Orlando, Florida |
In the very near future, we will be introducing a resolution commemorating one year anniversary of the tragic mass shooting at the Pulse nightclub in Orlando, Florida. On June 12, 2016, an armed gunman carried out a terrorist attack, targeting the LGBTQ community, at Pulse, a gay nightclub in Orlando, Florida. This attack killed 49 people, injuring 58 others, making this this deadliest mass shooting in U. S. history, and largest terror attack on American soil since 9/11. This resolution honors the memory of those who perished in the brutal attack; thanks the emergency responders and law enforcement officials who risked their own lives to protect their community; and denounces the use of violence to express hate and inflict terror. Please join us in co-sponsoring this resolution to demonstrate Pennsylvania’s support for the victims’ families, survivors, and Orlando, Florida, as they continue to grieve and heal. |
