Subject: Resolution Commemorating June 7th, 2017 as the 50th Anniversary of Jerusalem as the Capital of Israel
 
In the near future I intend to introduce a resolution commemorating June 7th as the 50th anniversary of Jerusalem as the Capital of Israel.

On June 7, 1967, one day into the Six-Day War, Israeli forces captured the old city of Jerusalem after nineteen years of division. This resulted in the reunification of Jerusalem as part of Israel.

Once Jerusalem came under Israel’s sovereignty, the religious discrimination and desecration that existed under Jordanian control came to an end. Since then, Jerusalem and its religious locations have been open to everyone.

Jerusalem represents the heart of Israel. Please join me in cosponsoring this resolution.
