Subject: | Resolution honoring the lives and memory of those killed and injured during the concert bombing in Manchester, England on May 22, 2017 |
In the near future, I plan to introduce a resolution honoring the lives and memory of those killed and injured during the bombing at the Ariana Grande Concert at Manchester Arena, England on May 22, 2017, and extending condolences to their families and concern for those injured and expressing gratitude to all emergency workers, first responders and volunteers and their efforts. The so-called Islamic State claimed responsibility for Monday night’s suicide bombing, which took 22 innocent lives and injured 59 others. The attack was carried out with explosives, planted at the Arena. The cruelty of Monday night’s attack in Manchester, targeting an audience made up mostly of young teenage girls, was shocking even by the standards of contemporary terrorism. Please join me in co-sponsoring this resolution. |
