MEMORANDUM

Posted: May 23, 2017 12:30 PM
From: Representative Ryan A. Bizzarro
To: All House members
Subject: Resolution Designating June 4-10, 2017, as “Parental Alienation and Hostile Aggressive Parenting Awareness Week”

In the near future, I will be introducing a resolution designating the week of June 4 through 10, 2017, as “Parental Alienation and Hostile Aggressive Parenting Awareness Week.”

The concept of Parental Alienation (PA) is defined as a form of emotional child abuse where a custodial parent belittles or vilifies the other parent to the child. As a means of creating greater awareness about PA, the Parental Alienation Awareness Organization (PAAO) annually observes “Parental Alienation Awareness Day” on the 25th of April. This year marked the 10th year of the observance.

In an effort to further build upon the observance of “Parental Alienation Awareness Day,” I will be introducing a resolution designating the first week of June as “Parental Alienation and Hostile Aggressive Parenting Awareness Week,” which is a commonwealth-wide effort aimed at highlighting the adverse effects that parental alienation and hostile aggressive parenting has on both the psychological and emotional welfare of children.

I ask that you please join me in co-sponsoring this critically important resolution.
