Subject:	“Behavior Analyst Appreciation Day” – June 12, 2017

I plan to introduce a resolution designating June 12, 2017 as “Behavior Analyst Appreciation Day” in Pennsylvania. A behavior analyst is a mental health professional who treats individuals with autism and developmental disabilities, as well as providing behavioral coaching and behavioral psychotherapy. Behavior analysis is widely recognized as the most effective treatment for children with autism spectrum disorder and the only treatment shown to lead to significant, lasting improvements in the lives of individuals with autism. Behavior Analyst Appreciation Day is an opportunity to recognize the important work and professional commitment of behavior analysts. Please join me in recognizing these professionals by cosponsoring this resolution.
