Subject: Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia Awareness Month
 
In the near future I will be introducing a resolution to designate April 2017 as “Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia (CDH) Awareness Month” in Pennsylvania. CDH is characterized by the abnormal development of the diaphragm before birth. Approximately 1 in 2,500 newborns are affected with 50% of the cases being fatal. Newborns with CDH often endure multiple surgeries and possible medical complications beyond the diagnosis.

Please join me in supporting the children with CDH and their families.
