Subject: Proposed Resolution - Honoring the United Way of Pennsylvania
 

In the near future, I plan to introduce a resolution for the House of Representatives to recognize and congratulate the United Way of Pennsylvania, its affiliated local entities and all of its volunteers.

Created in 1966 and with 57 local United Way organizations throughout Pennsylvania, the United Way has been a leader in the Commonwealth’s charitable community, raising over $177,000,000 in 2015. The United Way and its affiliated local entities provide for funding and logistical support for critical human services programs in local communities, with a focus on improving the health, education and financial stability of every person. United Way volunteers commit many hours of work for charitable causes and for special events such as the Days of Caring.

The United Way of Pennsylvania and its members will be at the Capitol on March 21, 2017 for their annual Hill Day. Please join me in cosponsoring this resolution.
