Subject: Standardizing the financial reporting procedure for Municipal Authorities
 
In the near future, I plan on introducing legislation that will standardize the financial reporting procedures for municipal authorities. Currently, municipal authorities that have their fiscal year end any time but December 31st are only given ninety days to complete and file their financial reports with the Department of Community and Economic Development, while authorities that have their fiscal year end on December 31st are given one hundred and eighty days to file their reports.

My legislation proposes to give all authorities the same amount of time to file their financial reports, by giving all authorities one hundred and eighty days to file their financial reports. This will give all authorities enough time to property complete their reports and file them with DCED.
