Subject: | Cancer Survivor Recognition Month – June 2017 |
In the near future, I plan to once again introduce a resolution designating June as Cancer Survivor Recognition Month in Pennsylvania, honoring all cancer survivors for their strength and courage in the face of this devastating diagnosis. A cancer survivor is anyone living with a history of cancer – from the moment of diagnosis through the remainder of life. Cancer survivors are all ages and from all walks of life. The American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network reports that there are over 711,000 cancer survivors in Pennsylvania. Survivorship can be both stressful and hopeful. Despite the challenges, many cancer survivors find that life after a cancer diagnosis can be meaningful, productive, and even triumphant. Please join me in cosponsoring this resolution. |
