Subject: Catholic Schools Week – Jan. 29 through Feb. 4, 2017
 
I am introducing a resolution designating the week of Jan. 29 – Feb. 4, 2017 as “Catholic Schools Week” in PA.

In the 2016-17 school year the Catholic elementary and secondary schools educated more than 140,000 students and saved state and local taxpayers more than $2 billion. Catholic schools provide young people a strong foundation of values and academic skills needed to become responsible citizens of this Commonwealth. The drop-out rate is less than 3%, and the postgraduate higher education rate is 90%.

Please join me in recognizing the contributions of Catholic schools in PA.
