Subject: Earth Day – April 22, 2017
 
I plan to introduce a resolution encouraging residents of Pennsylvania to observe “Earth Day” on April 22, 2017. This year’s theme is “Environmental and Climate Literacy,” highlighting the need to build a global citizenry knowledgeable in environmental science and fluent in local and global ecological issues.

This year marks the 47th celebration of Earth Day, encouraging awareness for environmental concerns. Earth Day events and activities are designed to promote environmentally friendly concepts, such as recycling energy efficiency, utilizing environmentally friendly products and reducing pollution.

Please join me in cosponsoring this resolution.
