Subject: Prohibition on the use of handheld electronic devices within a construction zone
 
In the near future, I am reintroducing HB 828 of the 2015-2016 legislative session, which was previously introduced by former Rep. Pete Daley. This legislation would amend Title 75 (Vehicles) section 3326, making the use of handheld electronic device within an active construction zone a summary offense.

We all know how hazardous distracted driving can be, but the activity is even more egregious within a construction zone when highway workers are present. I'm introducing this legislation in order to provide another layer of protection for these workers.
