In the near future, I plan to re-introduce legislation that will, hopefully, assist in addressing the decrease in both recruitment and retention of our volunteer fire and EMS personnel and the struggles they face in participating in necessary and timely training. This legislation will:
The Commonwealth and its political subdivisions will be required to grant up to five days of unpaid leave per year for bona-fide training. In addition, the Commonwealth and its political subdivisions will be authorized to grant up to five days of paid leave per year for bon-fide training.
