Subject: | Pennsylvania State Forest Camp Leases (former HB1106) |
In the near future, I plan to re-introduce last session's HB 1106 that would amend the Conservation and Natural Resources Act, further providing that state forest camp leases may be devised by operation of a lessee's will. This legislation establishes procedure for the transfer of such a lease to the devisee. In cases where the devisee is a non-resident of Pennsylvania, this bill empowers the Department to establish a non-resident annual rental fee and prohibits non-resident devises from selling or assigning such leases to subsequent non-residents of the Commonwealth. This provision ensures that these campsites will be returned to the Department for use by Pennsylvania residents. I believe that it is important to provide our constituents the flexibility to bequeath these campsite property interests to their heirs. Please join me in cosponsoring this important piece of legislation. Former cosponsors: Cohen, Gabler, Godshall, Hanna, A. Harris, Irvin, Klunk, Murt, Peifer, and Everett |
