MEMORANDUM

Posted: October 6, 2016 11:09 AM
From: Representative Stephen Barrar
To: All House members
Subject: Veterans Day at the Capitol 2016 (October 26, 2016)

Please join me in sponsoring a resolution recognizing Wednesday, October 26, 2016, as "Veterans Day at the Capitol 2016."

On October 26, veterans from throughout the Commonwealth will highlight the accomplishments and needs of Pennsylvania’s veterans as well as to continue to raise awareness of the issues and benefits veterans receive.

Today, there are nearly one million veterans in Pennsylvania. The PA State Veterans Commission - which is comprised of the American Legion, AMVETS, Blinded Veterans Association, Catholic War Veterans of the United States of America, Disabled American Veterans, Jewish War Veterans of the United States, Marine Corps League, Military Officers Association of America, Military Order of the Purple Heart, State Association of County Directors of Veterans’ Affairs, Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States, Italian-American War Veterans of the United States, the Vietnam Veterans of America, American Ex-Prisoners of War, and the Keystone Paralyzed Veterans Association - currently represent and serve our veterans community.

Meanwhile, the State Veterans Commission is aided by and works with the PA Department of Military and Veterans Affairs.

Again, please join me in sponsoring this resolution.
