| Subject: | Co-Sponsorship:Resolution designating the week of October 16 through October 22, 2016 as “Love Your Avenue Week” in Pennsylvania |
| In the coming days, I plan to introduce a Resolution designating the week of October 16 through October 22, 2016 as “Love Your Avenue Week” in Pennsylvania. As you know, communities throughout this great Commonwealth host commercial corridor cleanup events, street festivals, and sidewalk sales to mark “Love Your Avenue Week.” Most notable in this endeavor is the Pennsylvania Downtown Center (PDC.) The PDC is a non-profit organization that provides outreach and technical assistance to neighborhoods and communities in association with the Department of Community and Economic Development. In addition, the PDC is dedicated to developing and revitalizing communities of all sizes to showcase each community’s diverse collective resources, natural assets, local interests, and cultural institutions. The PDC’s centralized Harrisburg location allows the organization to interact regularly with the General Assembly in an effort to advance these noteworthy initiatives. As such, it is with these reasons in mind and more that I am offering this Resolution.
