Subject: Resolution Declaring “Assisted Living Week” in PA
 
Please join me in recognizing the week of September 11-17, 2016 as “Assisted Living Week” in Pennsylvania.

We are fortunate to have many different levels of care in the Commonwealth to ensure our seniors age in place. Whether it be the comfort of their own home and when the appropriate time comes, in a long-term care facility.

There are currently 38 licensed assisted living facilities in Pennsylvania. Residents in assisted living facilities enjoy their independence, maintain decision-making and personal choice; while family members find peace of mind that capable staff is available at a moment’s notice to support their loved ones needs in an appropriate manner. Assisted Living is a valuable asset to our long term services and supports system and has a long future here in Pennsylvania with the growing aging demographic.

To recognize the importance of assisted living residences in Pennsylvania, I hope that you will join me in recognizing this important care option in Pennsylvania.
