Subject: | Resolution - Child Passenger Safety Week - September 18-24, 2016 |
In the near future I plan to introduce a resolution designating September 18-24, 2016 as “Child Passenger Safety Week” in Pennsylvania. Car crashes are the leading cause of death for children ages birth to 12 years old. Chances of major injuries and death can greatly be reduced when children are in properly installed car and booster seats, and older children wearing their seat belts. Studies have shown child safety seats, when properly installed can reduce the risk of death in infants by 71% and 54% for toddlers. Please join me in co-sponsoring this resolution and help promote child passenger safety in Pennsylvania. |
