Subject: | Resolution Designating July as "National Auto Theft Prevention Month" in Pennsylvania |
In the near future I plan to introduce a resolution designating July as “National Auto Theft Prevention Month” in Pennsylvania. Each year the cost of stolen vehicles nationally is approximately 4.1 billion dollars. In 2014 there were 13,036 motor vehicle thefts in Pennsylvania. This resolution helps to recognize vehicle theft is not just a large city issue, vehicles are stolen every day across the Commonwealth from communities both big and small. Theft prevention can be achieved by taking a few simple steps every time we leave our vehicle. One example is always making sure the doors are locked and windows are closed. Please join me in cosponsoring this resolution. |
