MEMORANDUM

To: All House members
Subject: Resolution Directing the Legislative Budget & Finance Committee to Conduct a Study Regarding Teacher Preparatory Schools

In the near future, I will be introducing a resolution that will direct the Legislative Budget and Finance Committee to conduct a study and issue a report on current laws and regulations of the Commonwealth regarding teacher preparatory schools, and how Pennsylvania compares to other states.

It is vital to modernize and improve the system by which we hold teacher preparatory schools accountable for the investments made in them by the Commonwealth. Well prepared teachers are critical to the success of their students and should therefore be a critical issue for policymakers. This is why I believe in the need for a thorough detailed analysis.

In order to provide the constitutionally guaranteed education we owe every student, it is incumbent upon us to ensure a system is in place where teachers are prepared to provide them with the quality of education needed to excel in the future. Please join me in co-sponsoring this important resolution.
