Subject: May 2016 as "Foster Care Awareness Month"
 
In the near future, I plan to introduce a resolution that recognizes May 2016 as "Foster Care Month" in Pennsylvania.

Children in Foster Care are provided a safe, secure and stable home with compassionate, nurturing and a loving foster family. In Pennsylvania, there are approximately 15,000 children in foster care that receive services through Children & Youth every year.

The FAMILY is the primary source of love, identity, self-esteem and support. This is our very foundation of our communities in the commonwealth.

Please join me in co-sponsoring this important resolution.
