Subject: Designating a portion of State Route 1010 in Berks County as the DeLight Breidegam Jr. Memorial Highway
 
DeLight Breidegam Jr.attended Gettysburg College and served in the United States Air Force during World War ll. Mr. Breidegam has been honored by many organizations for his leadership, altruism and philanthropy. His many awards included World Entrepreneur Award from Kutztown University, Outstanding Business Leader from Northwood University, Business Person of the Year from Berks County Chamber of Commerce, the Leadership by Example Award from Berks County Senior Citizens Council, the Junior Achievement Hall of Berks County and the Eberly Medal for Philanthropy and Volunteerism from the Fund for the Advancement of the State System on Higher Education, Inc. He also held honorary degrees from Moravian College and Kutztown University and serve both schools as a board member. He was a prominent supporter of our military, serving as a member of the Southeastern Pennsylvania Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve Committee and received the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve Award from Department of Defense National Committee. He also received the Army Community of Excellence Award and Freedom Award from Department of Defense National Committee of Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve. Despite his long list of awards, honors and achievements, Mr. Breidegam always credited his success to those who worked around him.
