Subject: | Condolence Resolution for Professor Louis F. Del Duca of Dickinson School of Law |
In the near future, we will be introducing a condolence resolution honoring the life of Louis F. Del Duca who passed away on November 27, 2015. Professor Del Duca, known to many as “The Duke”, mentored countless law students from the United States and around the world. Professor Del Duca served nearly 60 years as a professor at the Dickinson School of Law in Carlisle and was internationally recognized as a leading scholar in the fields of commercial and comparative law, the internationalization of legal education, and the harmonization of laws. He also established the law school’s master of comparative law degree program and founded and managed the law school’s first international program. In addition to having an illustrious tenure at Dickinson, Professor Del Duca participated as a member of the United States Secretary of State’s Committee on International Trade Law, served as President of the International Academy of Commercial and Consumer Law, acted as United States Correspondent to the Rome International Institute for the Unification of Private Law, and collaborated with Working Group III of the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law. Professor Del Duca was a Distinguished Faculty Scholar Emeritus and was the longest-serving faculty member at Penn State Dickinson School of Law. Please join us in honoring this outstanding legal scholar and mentor. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Carrie Nace at 717-630-8942. |
