Subject: Hardwoods Funding
 
I will soon introduce legislation that will provide the necessary funding for hardwoods research and promotion, which the Governor unfortunately decided to blue-line veto in the General Fund budget presented to him. Pennsylvania is the number-one state for hardwoods production, and these funds are used, in part, to support and assist the forest products industry in developing domestic and foreign markets for value-added products.
