Subject: Fire Companies/Volunteer Services Grant Program
 
In the near future, I will be introducing legislation which will re-authorize and extend the Fire Companies and Volunteer Services Grant Program. This grant program is funded each year by gaming proceeds.

The annual mandated funding amount for the program is $30 million, and the program will expire June 30, 2016.

As you may know, this grant program has been highly successful since its inception and is a vital source of funding for our first responders. Thus, it is imperative that we re-authorize this program.

Please join me in further securing the funding our fire and EMS communities need.
