Subject: | Resolution honoring Rep. Angel Cruz for being elected president of the National Hispanic Caucus of State Legislators |
In the near future, I will introduce a resolution honoring one of our colleagues, state Rep. Angel Cruz, for recently being elected to serve as president of the National Hispanic Caucus of State Legislators. State Representative Angel Cruz was elected to serve as the president of the National Hispanic Caucus of State Legislators (NHCSL) in November of this year, an honor that places him at the helm of the preeminent organization serving and representing the interests of Hispanic state legislators from all states, commonwealths, and territories of the United States. The NHCSL was founded in 1989 as a non-partisan, 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and represents over 300 elected Hispanic State Legislators throughout the United States, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands. Since its founding, the NHCSL's primary mission has been to organize Hispanic state legislators who advocate on behalf of Hispanic communities across the United States. As president, Rep. Cruz will lead the fight for additional resources and representation at all levels of government on behalf of Hispanics across Pennsylvania, and nationwide, who may benefit from better housing, education, healthcare, and business opportunities in both the public and private sectors. I hope you will join me in cosponsoring this resolution and recognize the achievement of our colleague and friend, state Rep. Angel Cruz. |
