Subject: Resolution designating "National Chemistry Week"
 
I will be introducing a resolution designating October 18-24 as “National Chemistry Week” in Pennsylvania.

This community based program unites ACS (American Chemical Society) with businesses, schools and individuals in communicating the importance of chemistry to our quality of life. More than 96% of all manufactured goods are directly touched by chemistry, making chemistry an essential part of every facet of this nation's economy.

The evolving science of chemistry is essential for the success of our Commonwealth’s chemical industries that is a significant contributor to the economy of this Commonwealth employing nearly 47,000 people.
