Subject: | Amending the Vehicle Lemon Law |
In the near future, I will be introducing legislation amending the Automobile Lemon Law to increase the protections of consumers when purchasing a new motor vehicle. First, my legislation expands the current protections under the law from one year or 12,000 miles to a period of two years or 24,000 miles, whichever occurs first. Secondly, the bill requires the vehicle manufacture to continue to repair a defect that arose under the manufacturer’s warranty until it has been fully corrected even if the manufacturer’s warranty has expired. The manufacturer will also be required to provide a loaner car at no charge to the purchaser while the vehicle is in for repairs for warranty covered defects. Please join with me in supporting this piece of legislation, by adding your name as a cosponsor. Thank you. CD:cmc |
