MEMORANDUM

From: Representative Fred Keller and Rep. Lynda Schlegel Culver
To: All House members
Subject: Cosponsorship of Resolution to Recognize PA Cystic Fibrosis, Inc. for Efforts in Raising Awareness of Cystic Fibrosis

We are introducing a resolution to recognize Pennsylvania Cystic Fibrosis, Inc. for its extraordinary efforts over the past 30 years in raising awareness of CF, providing supports and financial assistance to families affected by CF and supporting progressive research for the cure of CF.

PACFI is an independent, nonprofit volunteer organization founded on October 2, 1985 that provides services and supports for Pennsylvania individuals and families affected by cystic fibrosis. The organization supports and funds some of the nation’s most progressive research at many top universities throughout the country.

PACFI has received the President’s Club Award in 2010 from the University of Minnesota, one of the best CF Care Centers in the country. The group has also raised over $565,000 for CF research through donations and a collaboration with Boyd’s Bears and the sale of a special teddy bear named Burke P. Bear.

PACFI celebrates its 30th year in October and we would like to recognize this organization for its tireless efforts in raising awareness of and supporting research for CF.

Please join us in co-sponsoring this resolution.
