Subject: Adding Suboxone to Methadone Death and Incident Review Act (148 of 2012)
 

In the near future I intend to introduce legislation amending the Methadone Death and Incident Review Act to include Suboxone related deaths and incidents for review. More and more lately we’re hearing about Suboxone on the streets in the Southeast and around the Commonwealth. It is my belief that Suboxone may be overprescribed, diverted and finding its way to the streets where it can be used illicitly. The Methadone Death and Incident Review Act (148 of 2012) will be amended to include deaths and incidents attributable to the use and misuse of Suboxone. I believe this will arm us with information that will help shape policy decisions in the future about the distribution of this drug. Please join me in sponsorship of this important legislation.
