Subject: | Resolution: Recognizing Immanuel Spencer Whitfield Wilkins for his selection to attend the 57th Annual Grammy Awards Ceremony and Camp |
In the near future, I will be introducing a resolution recognizing Immanuel Spencer Whitfield Wilkins’ selection to attend the 57th Annual Grammy Awards and Camp. This is the second consecutive year he has been selected to attend the Grammys and their camp. Mr. Wilkins is a senior at Upper Darby High School. He plays the saxophone and keyboard for a number of Upper Darby school bands. In addition, Mr. Wilkins plays the organ for the praise band at the Prayer Chapel Church of God in Christ. Mr. Wilkins has immersed himself in to the musical culture of Philadelphia, having taught at the Georgia E. Gregory Interdenominational School of Music in Philadelphia for two years. In addition, Mr. Wilkins studies and performs at the Philadelphia Clef Club of Jazz and Performing Arts. Furthermore, Mr. Wilkins attends the Kimmel Center Creative Music Program. Only 31 students in the country were selected to attend the 57th Annual Grammy Awards Ceremony and Camp. Mr. Wilkins is the only student to be selected from Pennsylvania. This week-long experience includes multiple performances and a recording session in Hollywood, California. Please join me in celebrating this gifted young musician and his selection to attend one of our nation’s highest musical awards. |
