Subject: NonControversial Resolution: "Community Banking Month"
 
In the near future, I will be introducing a resolution recognizing "Community Banking Month" in Pennsylvania recognizing the strong tradition of our community banks in Pennsylvania as they partner with local citizens and businesses in the development of our communities.

As you know, for more than 200 years, the Commonwealth’s community banks have provided local support that our communities need to grow and prosper. Now, there are more than 180 Community Banks in the Commonwealth with nearly 1,000 banking offices.

With more than $110 billion in assets, community banks know that when money stays in a town it becomes a renewable resource, creating an economic cycle that constantly revitalizes and stimulates local communities.

I hope you can join me in sponsoring this resolution.
