Subject:	Registration of Off-Highway Motorcycles

In the near future, I plan to introduce legislation that will establish the titling and registration of Off-Highway Motorcycles (OHMs). OHM riding is very popular in Pennsylvania. Allowing OHMs to be titled and registered in the same manner as ATVs and snowmobiles now has the potential to create more recreational and trial riding opportunities. It will also generate revenue that can be used for trails and add to the state's reputation as a great place to go for outdoor recreation. This could also be a significant boost for tourism in rural counties. The legislation adds OHMs to the current ATV and snowmobile registration provisions of Chapter 77 of the Vehicle Code. Property owners who make their land available for snowmobile, ATV and OHM riding or for safety instruction would be protected from liability. Plus, persons under age 16 would be required to complete a safety program to ride an OHM. I hope you will join me in sponsoring this legislation.
