MEMORANDUM

Posted: February 2, 2015 12:20 PM
From: Representative Robert F. Matzie
To: All House members
Subject: Condolence Resolution: Milos J. Klaich

In the near future, I plan to introduce a condolence resolution that honors the life and military service contributions of Milos J. Klaich, who passed away on Monday, November 24, 2014.

Mr. Milos J. Klaich, affectionately known as Mike, was born in Yugoslavia and immigrated to Ambridge in 1937. He served with distinction in the United States Army as a combat engineer and combat swimmer in the European-African-Middle Eastern theater during World War II.

Mr. Klaich was selected to signal the invasion lights on Omaha Beach, Normandy France, on D-Day. He was awarded a Presidential Citation, Purple Heart, Good Conduct Medal, Distinguished Unit Badge with two oak leaf clusters, Liberation of France Medal, and European-African-Middle Eastern Service Medal with eight bronze stars for his valorous service in World War II.

Following his exemplary military service, Mr. Klaich worked for the American Bridge Division of U.S. Steel, and served as president of the Serb National Federation, Ambridge Lodge No. 188.

Please join me in honoring the life and military service contributions of Mr. Milos J. Klaich, as well as extending our condolences to his family and friends.
