House of Representatives
Session of 2015 - 2016 Regular Session

MEMORANDUM

Posted: January 28, 2015 12:53 PM
From: Representative Rob W. Kauffman
To: All House members
Subject: Reduction in Size of House of Representatives and Senate

In the near future, I plan to re-introduce legislation that would reduce the size of both the House of Representatives and the Senate (formerly House Bills 1234 and 1716).

Last session, this legislation was introduced as two separate pieces by former Speaker, Sam Smith. I have decided to combine both pieces of legislation into one bill. This bill would amend the Constitution by reducing the size of the House of Representatives to 153 members and the Senate to 38 members.

I would appreciate your consideration of this legislation.

Introduced as HB560
