MEMORANDUM

Posted: January 16, 2015 02:45 PM
From: Representative William C. Kortz, II
To: All House members
Subject: Legislation Increasing Pensions for Blind, Amputee, and Paralyzed Veterans (Former HB 536)

In the near future, I will be re-introducing former House Bill 536 from the 2013-2014 legislative session. This bill increases the Pennsylvania amputee and paralyzed veterans’ pension, and the Pennsylvania blind veterans’ pension, by $50 per month. The successful passage of this bill would be the first increase to these two essential veterans’ systems since 1999.

I believe that additional assistance to our disabled veterans in these difficult economic times shows our respect and compassion for those who have given up so much for their country. These pension increases from $150 to $200 per month is yet another opportunity to aid these honored men and women in uniform.

Please join me in co-sponsoring this important legislation.
