Subject: | CRIZ |
In the near future, I plan to introduce legislation that would amend the City Revitalization and Improvement Zone (CRIZ) law. Under the current law, only third-class cities with a population of at least 30,000 that have not had a receiver appointed under Chapter 7 of Act 47can be eligible for City Revitalization and Improvement Zones. This population threshold leaves Easton, Hazelton, Johnstown, Lebanon, McKeesport, and New Castle out of participating in the program. As such, my legislation would drop the population threshold to 20,000, which would allow these other deserving third-class cities to create a CRIZ. Please join me in co-sponsoring this legislation. If you have any questions regarding this legislation, please contact Danielle Brown in my office by e-mail at dbrown@pahouse.net or by telephone at 783-3815.
