Subject: Resolution Recognizing the 200th Anniversary of the Battle of New Orleans
 
I will be introducing a resolution recognizing January 8, 2015 as the 200th Anniversary of the Battle of New Orleans. The battle took place on January 8, 1815 when 7,500 British soldiers marched against 4,500 U.S. troops led by General Andrew Jackson. Jackson defeated the British, halting their plans to attack New Orleans.
