Subject: Health Care Coverage Contribution (Prior HB 2126)
 
As once again we are heading into a financially crunched budget, I feel it is important that we are willing to contribute our share towards the cost of our health care benefits.

Therefore, I am reintroducing House Bill 2126 from last session that would require Members to contribute five percent of the annual cost of their health care premium through monthly payroll deductions. The plan calls for a three percent increase in deductions each term for the next five terms. At the end of the fifth term, Members would be responsible for 20 percent of the cost of their health care premium.
